Local owner, serviced here for some time, 52,000 original miles, excellent floor pan/chassis/inner sills, no rust, no patching, no thick aftermarket undercoating, nothing hidden. Fantastic.

AND...........excellent body and paint (repainted once in original color), spotless engine bay and trunk compartment, new tan top, excellent (probably) original seats and panels, new MG floor mates, excellent dash with a new burled wood covering, wood steering wheel, stereo/CD, full tonneau.

We are told the engine didn`t have many miles on it (since rebuilt, possibly for sitting for some time) and we were also told it has been modified for higher output. Well, a test drive seemed to prove it all.....75-90 psi oil pressure when warm, zero smoke, 165 psi compression (much higher than stock) and fitted with a new 2/36 DGV Weber carb and tubular headers for even greater performance. Revs quickly and a very lively MGB. With an excellent clutch, gearbox, silent differential.

As a late model B, has power assist disc brakes, front and rear sway bars, better and bigger gauges, better electrical system, larger radiator with thermostatically controlled electric cooling fans, in all ways a superior car.

However, as a late model B, arrived here with ugly rubber bumpers and raised suspension height. AND NOW, we have lowered it to pre 1975 ride height and performed a comprehensive professional chrome bumper conversion. Making this, in many ways, the best all around MGB, especially for casual weekend and/or daily use. In a sense, the best MGB NEVER sold in the USA.

Think about it, who (back in the late 70s) would buy an MGB that was ugly, gutless, and ungainly? NOT the boy racer of the mid 1960s who might stick in a roll bar and go racing. Rather, the more mature casual driver who babied this car from the very beginning. Hence covering only around 1200 miles a year. And the result....a beautiful, incredibly well preserved 45 year old sports car.

And with a beautiful color combination.
