Truly one of the great collector's car of the era. And a very usable collectable.

Bought this car for my own use but now, decided to go in a different way and, thus, now offered for sale. Odometer shows 31,000 miles and judging from the pedal pads and interior, suspect it is accurate. Far from finished but we can do everything to 'finish' this car exactly as a potential buyer wishes.

When acquired: virtually perfect floor/chassis.....just one small patch, professionally welded. NO undercoating, NO rust, NO damage, very close to perfect. When the car arrived, body was in primer, our magnet showed no plastic filler anywhere, as close to perfect as the underneath. Rear deck, wood dash and console, all truly excellent. And carpets appear to be all new.

Engine turned over fine but compression was evenly low, a typical sign of sitting for years and rings having insufficient 'spring' to get started. We pulled the engine out and its been disassembled. The 'internals' were all like brand new. No appreciable wear onthe crank or bearings. Clutch disc shows very little wear as does the cylinder bores. Our plan is to hone the bores, fit new rings, new bearings, grind the valves into the seats, reassemble and reinstall the unit.

We can clean ,and bench test the SPICA fuel injection pump OR convert the car to the European style twin 40 DCOE Webers. Powder coat the exhaust manifolds flush the radiator, and put things back into running order.

Our plans include getting all new disc brake calipers, new flex lines and a new master cylinder Already mounted 185/70 Pirellis on the original wheels Or install alloy wheels. A buyer's choice.

Paint? We can go in one of two ways...either paint in original silver/gray OR repaint in ANY color a buyer wishes. Easy, now, with the engine out to do a nice color change in the engine bay, under hood and trunk lids, door jambs, etc. Pick a color, black, red, green, whatever. And like all of our paintwork, done with four coats of acrylic and wet sanded, followed with four coats of clear and wet sanded/buffed to a show finish.

I guess it goes back to the obvious, why buy a car in a color one doesn't want, why buy a car with suspicions of the engine's internal condition, why buy a car with its clutch nearly worn out, why buy a car with rust hidden under four different previous exterior colors or undercoating hiding chassis/floor rust

Want a sensational GTV? Here is you chance.

When we connected a battery, all of the dash lights came alive, the original Blaupunkt AM-FM radio clicked on and sounded fine. Interior also in near perfect condition....original seats, panels, headliner, and rear deck. No stitches pulled, no little tears, absolutely incredible.

By the way, specs on the car: All aluminum Twin cam engine, 1779cc, SPICA fuel injection OR (in Europe) twin Weber carbs, 5 speed trans, sophisticated rear suspension, four wheel power disc brakes. Seats four, and this car has rare factory air conditioning. Which we can improve with the installation of a modern rotary air compressor.

For myself or for re-sale, we will continue to move ahead on the project. But we can offer the potential buyer the opportunity to look inside the engine while disassembled, to look under the chassis, in the interior, or at the exterior in primer. All of which is the ideal time to really see (and buy) a car.
