A well preserved example, very little use since rebuild and restoration.'
Excellent body with no filler, older but still very nice pale primrose paint, same with interior, excellent chrome throughout, good older top, side curtains, and tonneau. Exceptional mechanical condition....rebuilt engine, 160 psi compression in every cylinder, 75 psi oil pressure at operating temperature, no smoke cold or hot, clutch grabs perfectly, gearbox has excellent synchromesh action and doesn't pop out of gear, light precise steering, excellent ride, all gauges either working properly or just rebuilt, wire harness was replaced, all electricals work, and has been converted to negative ground (so a modern digital stereo can be installed).
While the side badge shows it as a 1500, one can only guess if the engine has been overbored when rebuilt as it certainly is a lively free revving engine. SU carbs are perfectly tuned, and it is one of the best running T Series MG we have ever driven. And as quick as any good 1500.
Only 9.600 MG TFs were built and with its optional 15" center lock wire wheels, certainly the most attractive of these beautifully built post war T Series cars. An ideal candidate to have twin racing screens added to the cowl as with the folding windshield down, country driving is an absolute delight.
NO rattles, easy shifting and steering, impressive ride are really incredible when one consider this is a 70 year old sports car. We installed new seat belts, has a chrome luggage rack, we can add a modern stereo, and ready for many years of enjoyable use.
